One of these days I have to go to the Barrett Jackson auction. It's not far from my house, and I love the cars I see on TV. I always wondered how much I would have gotten for my old convertible if I sold it through them.

It sure is great to read these old stories, I have meet Dyno Don back in late 80's when he came to by my El Camino at that time I was building my 1962 Belair after almost 20 years it only has 500 miles on it after a complete rebuild and 2 kids. I have been very lucky in my ventures and currenty own 2 62 chevys with 409's and a 1960 El Camino with a Curt Harvey built 474 " 409 with a 6/71 blower. During a trip to Solvang in the mid 80's we found a 1931 Ford model a coupe come to find out this was built by Ed and Richard Iskyderian owners of Isky racking cams. We still own this car as well as a 65 Turbo Corsa Corvair. Like I said I have been very lucky. But most of all is the true love for AMERICAN MADE cars of the 60's. Happy mortoring.
I found your article very interesting and had a question. I and a friend of mine have been researching the Z11 in order to write a book.
In regards to your history in FL, did you ever go up against or find yourself in the pits with the 'Thunder' Z11 raced by Bob Tucker? It was a gold colored car, I am told. Not the 63 Anniv. gold but probably Autumn Gold. The reports are that Bob took exceptional care of this car and kept in pristine condition throughout it's career on the track.
We do have a couple pics of this car but not a lot of specs or info yet. Any memories, specs, pics, leads or artifacts would sure be appreciated.
Thanks so much, Jody (NIA doctor on the 409 forum)
